New MP Parimal Suklabaidya Urges NHIDCL for Swift Road Repairs in Silchar, Aims for Completion by Next Year
On Thursday, Parimal Suklabaidya, the newly elected Member of Parliament for the Silchar Lok Sabha constituency, conducted an important meeting with the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) at their Silchar office. The discussions centred around the progress of various road construction projects in Cachar district, including North Cachar, and the renovation of roads in the heart of Silchar town.
During the meeting, MP Suklabaidya reviewed the advancements on National Highway 7, particularly the Balachhara-Harangajao stretch, and ongoing works under the Bharatmala project. He also deliberated on the proposed drainage systems and the repair works needed in different areas of Silchar town.
Joining the MP were Bimlendu Roy, President of the Cachar District BJP, along with other district BJP officials.
While addressing media, MP Suklabaidya stated that he had spoken with the NHIDCL officials about the road conditions and urged them to find a solution to make life easier for pedestrians, especially during the rainy season. He emphasised the need for a permanent solution and mentioned that the discussion on this matter lasted for over an hour.
He requested the NHIDCL officials to take the initiative and start the work for a permanent solution within this year. MP Suklabaidya expressed hope that the NHIDCL would find a solution for the ongoing issues caused by the rainy season and work towards a long-term resolution for the road conditions. He believes that the work will be completed by next year.
The meeting reflects the commitment of local authorities to improve infrastructure and ensure safer and more accessible roads for the residents of Cachar district.
