NIT Silchar students represent Assam at Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2023

New Delhi witnessed a grand celebration of education and cultural integrity at the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS-2023), held at Bharat Madapam, Pragati Maidan. The event, inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, marked its first official program since its grand inauguration on July 26. The event was dedicated to promoting education and fostering cultural unity across the nation.

Students from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar represented Assam at ABSS-2023 with pride and enthusiasm. The program aimed to celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of NEP-2020, envisioning a transformative education scenario in India, leading it to become a global leader in various fields.

The ABSS-2023 witnessed a massive gathering of more than 3000 delegates, including heads of Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), universities, policymakers from both state and central governments. They all came together to commemorate the vision of NEP-2020 and its potential to re-harness India’s pride and glory in the world.

Earlier, on July 28, the YuvaSangam delegates, hailing from different parts of the country, expressed their immense delight at engaging in meaningful conversations with Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and Hon’ble MoS Smt. Annapurna Devi. The 200 delegates chosen from YuvaSangam community expressed their commitment to realising Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s dream of transforming India into a global leader in education, technology, and economy by 2047, coinciding with the centenary celebrations of India’s independence.

The cultural program at ABSS-2023 was a captivating display of Assam’s rich heritage. The Yuva delegates from Assam showcased the traditional Bihu Dance, an indigenous folk dance of the region, which left the audience in awe. Following this, Assam’s state song received a standing ovation, further highlighting the state’s vibrant culture.

NIT Silchar had previously hosted YuvaSangam delegates from Chandigarh and Delhi, led by NITTTR Chandigarh and JNU Delhi, respectively. The delegates from Assam led by NIT Silchar visited Chandigarh and Delhi, gaining a multidimensional experience across five broad areas – Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogik (Technology), and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect).

The Yuva Sangam delegates expressed their heartfelt gratitude and sincere thankfulness to AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and MoE (Ministry of Education), Government of India, for successfully organising such an important and life-enriching event for the youths of the nation.
