NIT Silchar to host “Oikyotaan”; Somlata and the Aces to perform among other extravaganzas
National Institute of Technology, Silchar is all set to host the second edition of “Oikyotaan” on April 17, 2022. This is an annual celebration organised on the occasion of Bengali New Year by the students and faculty members of this premier technical institute. This year, among the usual extravaganza, there are two headliner events, Somlata and the Aces is one among them.
On April 17, on the occasion of Bengali New Year, the event will start with the Morning Rally, where the theme is “National Integrity” and cultural heritage from all the states will be integrated with the display. Followed by that will be “Noboborsher Adda” and competition among the children of the faculty of that college. “There will be various other events throughout the day, but the main attraction will be the events later that evening. There we have two headliner events and this edition of Oikyotaan will be celebrated with much grandeur”, informed the Student Union Body of that Institute.
In the evening the magazine “Bornomala” will be formally inaugurated by the editorial board in presence of the faculty of that Institute. Later there will be a Ramp Walk followed by performances of the students from different branches and programmes of that Institute. Later that night, the headliner events will start which the student body expects to be “a huge one”. Somlata and the Aces is definitely the major attraction here but the second headliner performance is yet to be announced by the event coordinators of Oikyotaan.
NIT Silchar has a very prominent fest culture and is very well known for the same which happens throughout the year. Artists of both national and international prominence have performed previously during various such fests. Other than these fests, this Institute also holds top ranks in the nation in terms of academics.
