Noise of explosion shocks a village in Cachar; Cachar SP rules out bomb blast; “No reason to Panic,” Numal Mahatta

Last night, the people of Didarkush Tea Estate located under the jurisdiction of Kachudaram Police Station of Cachar district got stunned as they heard the sound of a huge explosion. The locals rushed out of their homes to find the source of the explosion and they spotted a teak tree which got shattered because of the explosion.

Kachudaram Police were informed about the explosion and upon hearing the news, Cachar SP Numal Mahatta himself joined the operation. “We have combed the area thoroughly and prima facie, it does not look like a planned bomb blast organized by using professional explosives. We did not find any splinters anywhere, not signs of ID either,” stated Cachar SP Numal Mahatta.

He added, “It seems like fireworks like pataka and all have been used to locally build an explosive item. What is also worth noticing is that the area where it was detonated, is a secluded piece of land. So why someone used local explosives in the middle of nowhere and for what reasons, I am sure the Police officials will unearth these details and reveal the secrets.”

Cachar SP requested the general public to not read too much into the explosion. “There is no reason to panic. I request the general public to not get scared because of this blast,” the SP added.
