NRC: Complete family list to be available online from September 14 onwards

On August 31, 2019, the state coordination committee which is headed by Pratik Hajela released the final draft of NRC. That draft however only had names of those involved in claims and objections. In the NRC process, each family is given one unique ARN numbers. Now in many families across the state, a few members were in the draft while others had to claim. Those families expressed their concerns as they could not view the full family list.

Today, the NRC state coordination committee issued a statement which read, “Whereas the final NRC publication on 31st August 2019 consisted only of supplementary lists, querries are being received from the public about the publication of results of all members of the family irrespective of their involvement in the claims and objection process. The results for the complete family will be available for the display online from September 14, 2019.”

More than 19 lakh claims were rejected and all of them now need to appeal at the Foreigners Tribunal. They need to collect their rejection certificates from their NRC Seva Kendra (NSK). NRC state coordination committee shed light on the fact that queries are also received from the public about the issue of certified copies of rejection from the final NRC.

“The public is aware that the hearings have been held at various venues away from their designated NSK. The process of collection of the orders passed by the NRC officers is being carried out to enable early availability of the same to the public to file appeals. The time frame for this process will be announced shortly,” read the statement.
