October 7 COVID Update: No death in SMCH; 3 positive in Hailakandi, 59 in Cachar

Hailakandi has reported the lowest number of cases since June 2020. The district administration informed that three fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Hailakandi on Wednesday, taking the district’s total tally to 3,181.

Health authorities disclosed that of the 3 positive cases, 2 have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Altogether 569 swab samples were taken on Wednesday out of which 124 are under RT-PCR and 445 under RAT.

Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, vice-principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital informed that in the last 24 hours, 16 patients took admission to the COVID wards in the hospital while 11 got discharged. Currently, there are 115 patients admitted with coronavirus infection and 21 of them are in critical condition. 20 patients are in ICU and five have been put under a ventilator.

He added that there was no COVID related death in SMCH in the last 24 hours.

Cachar administration informed 59 individuals tested positive on Wednesday. 1536 samples were tested using the Rapid Antigen Test Kit. 14 individuals tested positive on RT-PCR while 45 on RAT.
