One house and two shops gutted in a devastating fire at Dholai’s Channighat

A house and two shops were gutted by a devastating fire that took place at Dholai’s Channighat in Cachar district at around 5 pm on Wednesday. The fire started from the house of Azizur Rahman Laskar (Azur), a resident of Bhagbazar Bon gram. The people of the house witnessed a sudden fire in the house. Instantly, the entire house was engulfed in flames. 

The fire also later spread to two shops near the national highway. The fire brigade informed of the incident however Azizur Rahman’s house was completely destroyed before the fire brigade arrived. The fire brigade from Dholai reached the spot with two engines and brought the fire in the shops under control. Dholai Police also reached the spot after hearing the news of fire. The source of the fire is not yet known however the damage is estimated to be several lakhs rupees.
