Pandal resembling Mayapur ISKCON Temple: Karimganj’s E&D Colony to be a big attraction this Kali Puja

Maa Durga has reached Kailasa, it’s another year of long anticipation for next, but for now, it’s time for Kalipuja, and the festival of lights- Deepaboli. Kali puja is celebrated with lots of enthusiasm and devotion. Less than 15 days left for kalipuja, all clubs and puja committees are action-packed at this moment. Like other places, kali puja is very popular in Barak valley as well.

In the bordering town of Karimganj, E and D colony Raynagar is known for grandly hosting Kali Puja. This year E and D colony’s Kalipuja will mark 18 years, and this year their pandal will resemble the temple of Mayapur ISKCON.

Their budget this year is around five lakhs. They have engaged local decorators for pandal, light, and the idol of Kali. The idol will be made by the artists of Rup Shilpalay, Rupan Kar is managing the lighting, and Dhaakis are hired from Agartala Tripura.

Patharkandi MLA Krishnendu Paul heads the E and D colony puja committee, Secretary is Nirmalya Banik.

Prasad will be distributed to the devotees and spectators on the night of puja and the day after puja. Puja organizers will adhere to the COVID protocols similar to Durga puja; they will enforce the use of masks, and a sanitization facility will be available.
