Rain disrupts Railway Communication in Silchar – Guwahati region; Kanchenjungha, Vistadome, Humsafar controlled

Train movement in the hill section has got suspended after heavy torrential rains in the Barak Valley and Dima Hasao districts from past 2 days.

As per reports, Railway authorities on Saturday morning received communication of water overflowing railways tracks between Maibang and Daotuhaja station and accordingly rail movement was suspended.

Several trains have been controlled at Maibang, New Haflong and Badarpur stations of NF railway until the track is declared fit for engine rolling.

Sealdah – Agartala Kanchenjungha Express, Vistadome Special, Silchar – Guwahati Express, Agartala – Bengaluru Humsafar Express are among the trains that have been controlled.

However rail sources are confident of resuming the train service shortly.
