Ramandeep Kaur IPS transferred to Golaghat; Numal Mahatta APS to replace her as Cachar SP

Cachar SP Dr. Ramandeep Kaur (IPS) has been transferred and posted as the Superintendent of Police, Golaghat. Big breaking news coming in from the State Secretariat. The notification has been issued through an order by the governor. Government of Assam’s Home Admin Department informed that Kaur will replace Sumeet Sharma IPS in Golaghat.

Ramandeep Kaur was transferred in a moment of crisis on July 26, 2021, when Cachar SP, Vaibhav Chandrakant Nimbalkar was shot during the border conflict with Mizoram. She played a pivotal role in launching a massive crackdown against illegal transportation of fertilisers and areca nuts.

She will be replaced by Numal Mahatta, APS. The order states, “Numal Mahatta, Commandant, 10th APBN Kahilipara, Guwahati is transferred and posted as the Superintendent of Cachar.” In the past, he has been the Addl. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Police Commissionerate, Guwahati. Mahatta is one of the top cops in the state.
