Rangirkhari to University four lane road; PWD issues invitation to tender
Assam Public Works Department, on Thursday floated tender for upgradation of 18.5 km of Silchar to Assam University road, which is in shamble condition from past year.
“The Chief Engineer, PWD, (Roads) , Assam, Chandmari, Ghy-3 on behalf of the Governor of Assam invites Bids online from approved and eligible registered Contractors of A.P.W.R.D. / others agency for the following works under RIDF-XXV of NABARD for the year 2019-20” said the notice.
PWD named the project as – Improvement of Road from Silchar Town to Assam University up to Irongmara Bazar. (Silchar
Hailakandi Road, Ch.0.00 Km to Ch.18.50 Km), Improvement with DBM & BC, Drain cum Footpath & R.C.C. open drain under RIDF-XXV of NABARD for the year 2019-20 under PWRD Silchar & Udharbond Territorial Road Division, Silchar.
With estimated amount of 53.4 crore, total of 18.5 km road will be improved along with construction of RCC drain and footpaths.
Bids submission started from 9th January and will end on 27th February, according to the tender notice. The Bidders will have to submit bid online only through E-tendering System.
It can be mentioned here that road from Silchar town to Assam University, hosts number of hospitals and educational institutes which necessitates a good connecting one. The project is the brain child of current MLA Dilip Paul who proposed to widen the existing road into a 4 lane one.
