Rs 32 Crore Investment MoU Signed in Hailakandi Under Advantage Assam 2.0
A major investment boost is on the horizon for Hailakandi, as 92 entrepreneurs have signed MoUs worth Rs. 32 crore under the Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative. The agreements were formalised at a meeting organised by the district administration at Rabindra Bhavan on Tuesday (February 25).
Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner Nisarg Hivare, who addressed the event, highlighted the district’s strong potential for industrial growth, particularly in agriculture, fisheries, construction, and allied sectors. “Land is already available for investment in agriculture, horticulture, and fisheries. With the right entrepreneurial mindset and technology adoption, the district can witness significant growth,” he said. He assured investors of full support from the administration.
To facilitate smooth processing, investors must fill out the Common Application Form on the state government’s Industry Department portal. “All necessary approvals will be processed scientifically within a set timeframe,” said Farida Yasmin, Assistant General Manager of the District Industries and Commerce Department.
The event also featured a live screening of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit’s inaugural session in Guwahati, where the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister addressed investors. The programme was hosted by elocutionist Shankar Choudhury.
The district administration has assured that an investor-friendly environment has been created in Hailakandi, encouraging more entrepreneurs to step forward.
