Senior division footballer Suman Deb needs immediate surgery; family seeks financial help
A bright talent, 24-year-old Suman Deb had a bad fall during a match and is now in crisis. The senior division football player registered under District Sports Association, Silchar, plays for Tarapur Athletic Club. According to family sources, son of Sanju Deb a Patharkandi-Karimganj resident, Suman was playing a match during which he got injured.
Suman Deb is now undergoing treatment in Germanten Hospital, Telangana. After MRI and scans the doctors at the hospital diagnosed that he is suffering from lower back pain caused by diffuse disc bulge indenting the thecal sac at L4 – L5 and L5 – S1 levels with bilateral neural foramina narrowing the Posterior Annular Tear at L5 – S1.
The doctors there prescribed, “He requires to undergo spinal surgery with L4-L5, L5-S1, Laminectomy, and micro-level discectomy.” The hospital estimated the surgery to cost around Rs 1.3 lakh.
Meanwhile, Prithwish Das uploaded a cry for help on a social media platform. His post read, “Request Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal for providing a special facility for treatment so that the young boy can recover to normal life soon. If anyone personally wants to help him financially his family will be very much grateful.”
After a successful surgery, Suman Deb will need a month rest along with regular physiotherapy. He wants to recover well and wear his scoring boots as soon as possible.
