Silchar Civil Hospital receives 1st Prize under Kayakalp Award
S.M. Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar receives the 1st Prize under Kayakalp Award. In a ceremonial programme at the Sankar Dev Kalakshetra, Guwahati, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister, Health & Family Welfare handed over the prize to Dr. Sudip Jyoti Das, Jt. Director of Health Services, Cachar, Dr. Ashutosh Barman, Superintendent, S.M. Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar and Sri. Rahul Ghose, DPM, NHM, Cachar on 15th September.
Kayakalp is a national initiative launched by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to promote cleanliness and enhance the quality of healthcare facilities in India. The purpose of this initiative is to appreciate and recognize the healthcare organisations effort in creating a healthy environment. The initiative promotes Cleanliness, Hygiene and Infection Control, creates and share sustainable practices related to improved cleanliness in healthcare facilities linked to positive health outcomes. An amount of Rs. 50 Lakh has been credited to the account of S.M. Dev Civil Hospital which will be utilized in various development works of the hospital.
Apart from S.M. Dev Civil Hospital, several other hospitals were awarded in different categories including, Harinagar BPHC, Kathigorah Model Hospital, Kalain FRU, Borjalenga MPHC, Narsingpur MPHC, Joypur SHC, Dholai BPHC & Borkhola BPHC.
Laya Madduri, IAS, DC, Cachar congratulated the Cachar Health Team and S.M. Dev Civil Hospital staffs for this achievement. She has reiterated that with this award is a tribute to the proof of the public on health service delivery of the hospital will increase. Each and every staff should be alert for patient safety and hospital upkeep.
