Silchar MLA Dilip Paul lays foundation stone for construction of youth hostel in Dhakai Patty

A ground plus two-floor youth hostel will be constructed in Silchar. Earlier today, Silchar MLA Dilip Paul has laid the foundation stone of the project in Dhakai Patty, Silchar.

The MLA was accompanied by the president of Silchar DSA, Babul Hore, secretary Bijendra Prasad Singh among many others. A sum of Rs 50,000,000 has been sanctioned to get the work started. The name of the project is Construction of Youth Hostel At Silchar of RCC (G+2) storied building.

The project has been sanctioned under Sports & Youth Welfare Department. The executing agency is PWD Building Division Silchar.

While laying the foundation stone, MLA Dilip Paul said the amount sanctioned is just to get the work started. He stated that he is confident more funds will flow in for us to have a state of the art youth hostel.

“I know there are a lot of issues that were brought to my notice, and some of them are yet to be solved. Actually, the situation we took over was not that pleasant. Our predecessors did not leave keeping Silchar Legislative Assembly Constituency in a healthy position. However, we are confident that we will get one more term and get to serve the people,” said Paul.
