Silchar’s Debanjali and Piyush Selected for Pariksha Pe Charcha With PM Modi
Two students from Cachar district have been selected to attend the Pariksha Pe Charcha’s Guwahati Edition to be held on December 21, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to interact with students. The selected students are Piyush Debnath of PM Shri Narshing Higher Secondary School and Debanjali Bhattacharjee of Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Malugram.
Before boarding his train to Guwahati on December 17, Piyush Debnath of Class 11 Science expressed happiness and pride over being selected for the Pariksha Pe Charcha event. He said he was feeling great and described the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister as something everyone wishes for. Piyush added that he feels honoured to represent students and hopes to raise questions on behalf of all students during the interaction.
In a telephonic conversation with Barak Bulletin, Debanjali from Guwahati said she was delighted and excited about the opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister. “We are having something like a grooming class now, where we are being trained on how to behave at the event. I am a bit nervous as well,” she said. She further informed her family’s reaction was overwhelming and filled with happiness, and that all her teachers were also very happy. “It means a lot to me. Being able to meet the Prime Minister and interact with him is a very special moment for me,” the student preparing for class 10 board exams added.
Piyush Debnath said, “We will meet the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister, and there I would be able to ask a few questions to PM Modi. We will stay there for a few days and our main event will be held on December 21.” He added that students of his age have many questions when it comes to handling exam pressure, the answers to which are not easily available, and that it would be better to hear them from people at the top level. He also said the questions have already been prepared and mentioned that his involvement in school activities such as youth parliament, hackathons and similar programmes may have contributed to his selection.
Debanjali’s mother told Barak Bulletin that, she was extremely happy and proud of her daughter. “Not many get this opportunity. My daughter received it and I am very happy. It is a matter of pride for us as well as for Silchar,” she said. She further informed that the family came to know about Debanjali’s selection only recently, which made them excited and emotional. According to her, Debanjali and other selected students will stay in Guwahati and prepare before the main event. Her mother also informed that Debanjali has made preparations and is ready to interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Principal of Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Malugram, Ankita Debroy, expressed her pride while speaking to Barak Bulletin over the phone. She said she was proud of Debanjali Bhattacharjee’s selection and stated that Debanjali would represent not only schools under Vidya Bharati but the entire student community of South Assam at this event.
She further informed that an online interview was conducted for Vidya Bharati students to assess their ambition, fluency, vision, and overall capabilities, following which Debanjali was selected.
