Snatcher Gang: Cachar Police arrests three suspects; Rakibul Hussain confesses was involved in 5 lakh snatching

Finally, the Cachar Police has attained some success in its operation against the gang of snatchers operating freely in Silchar. This year itself, the gang has snatched cash from four Silchar – residents. Moments after customers walked out of the banks like SBI Main Branch, SBI New Silchar Branch, HDFC Silchar Branch, miscreants snatched cash from the customers. They come riding on black motorcycles and flee within seconds.

The Police officials raided houses in Tarapur, Shildubi, Sonai, Banskandi. Police sources confirmed that three individuals have been detained so far. The operation was launched by Silchar Sadar Police Station under the directive of Cachar SP, Dr. Ramandeep Kaur.

The three detained individuals have been identified as Bishal Sabdakar a resident of Tarapur Shib Bari Road, Sahid Ahmed Laskar of Sonai Nagdirgram and Rakibul Hussain AKA Rocky of Ujan Tarapur.

Police sources confirmed that Rakibul Hussain has confessed his crime. “He was caught with possession of Rs 30,000. He said that the same is a part of the Rs 5 lakh that they had snatched from an elderly man in front of HDFC Bank’s Club Road,” said a Police source who wished not to be named.

The Police officials are continuing their raids in various other zones. “Rocky has given us some leads that we are following and so we will attain more success,” added the Police source.
