
Sribhumi Police Recovers Hijacked Truck with 54 Refrigerators, Arrests Four
In a joint operation on Tuesday morning, Badarpur Police (Sribhumi) and Bhangarpar Outpost Police arrested four individuals involved in the hijacking of a truck transporting 54 refrigerators from Guwahati to Agartala. The stolen vehicle was recovered from a warehouse in Masimpur, Arunachal area of Cachar.
According to police sources, the truck was hijacked upon reaching Badarpur. The mastermind behind the crime was identified as the truck driver, Jabir Hussain Choudhury (Ajmal).
Ajmal, who allegedly sold the refrigerators for Rs. 1.8 lakh to Javed Iqbal Laskar, a resident of Sonapur GP. Javed then stored the refrigerators at the house of Abu Sajed in Masimpur.
The deal was reportedly facilitated by Abu Salim Barbhuiya (Binnon), a resident of Sonapur GP, Rangghar.
Since the truck was equipped with a GPS tracker, Badarpur Police traced its location and conducted a raid in Masimpur, recovering all 54 refrigerators. Following an investigation, all four accused were arrested and handed over to Badarpur Police.
