Storm strikes Silchar: Houses damaged

Yesterday, a strong storm shook up most of the areas in Barak Valley. As per reports shared by the District Diasaster Management Authority today, fortunately no life has been lost but many houses got damaged.

As per the report, 15 houses were damaged in Borkhola in Silchar Sadar, 28 houses in Katigorah while Lathigram in Udarbond was majorly affected after 2150 houses were partially damaged.

While detailed assessment report is under process, the villagers have been left with no roof and more troubles in their life. Also, infrastructure pertaining to APDCL got damaged in many areas.

Another development that took place was during the aftermath of the storm, the missing body of Johny Pohtmi was recovered today and sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. He was missing from May 6, 2018.
