Student of St. Capitanio did not test positive for covid; Prescription forged
Prescription of a 16-year-old boy has been doing rounds on social media since yesterday. That boy is a student of St. Capitanio School in Silchar and according to the prescription, he has tested positive for COVID19.
The boy, as per his classmates, went on to share it with his friends asking them to isolate themselves. A few teachers have also shared the same to alert the students who attended the offline classes.
Barak Bulletin got access to the prescription last night and the rumour was spreading that a student of St. Capitanio School has tested positive. When reached out to the concerned officer in Cachar administration, he said the name of the 16-year-old boy was not there in the list of patients who tested positive for COVID19 yesterday in Cachar.
The prescription was sent to the Principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital Dr. Babul Bezbaruah. He has personally verified the prescription and confirmed that it has been forged.
Dr. Bezbaruah was briefed by the concerned department that the 16-year-old has tested negative and not positive.
Sister Stella of St. Capitanio School also confirmed that the student had tested negative and the same will be circulated internally as well as to the parents.
When asked if the school authority will take action against the student for forging the prescription, the sister said she would not like to make a comment at this stage. Instead she would like to understand the situation further and only then make a statement.
However, sources in the School’s management has informed that the mischief was done by the student himself with the help of his friends.
“There is a pre-board examination slated to take place. That test will be taken offline and and that is why the students have done this mischief is what we feel,” said a source close to the administration.
It is worth mentioning here that a couple of schools in Guwahati were turned into containment zones after students tested positive. In one of the schools, the pre-board examination was postponed too. Many in St. Capitanio Management believe that the students forged the prescription to induce panic among parents and at the same time, derail the offline examination programme.
