Thank to 24X7 efforts of NFR, railway traffic now fully restored

Passenger traffic in Lumding Badarpur hill section resumed from Friday noon, after the empty rake of New Delhi-Agartala Rajdhani Express safely passed through the landslide affected portion. Soon after that, the Rajdhani, 12507 Trivandrum-Silchar Express also safely passed through the area, certifying the track to be fit for operation. On Thursday night, around 9 PM, track fit certificate was issued by the railway with train speed restriction of 10kmph in the repaired section.

All the trains from Barak Valley are running normally today, after 55616 Silchar-Guwahati Passenger train departed ‘on time’ from Silchar station. On Saturday, three trains departed from Agartala station and reached Guwhatai on its scheduled time. The trains were 12504 Humsafar Express, 15626 Agartala Deogarh Express and 13174 Kanchenjunga express.

It can be mentioned here that on 12th July, train movement in Lumding Badarpur section was disrupted after huge portion of track was damaged due to landslide at 110 KM near Jatinga Lumpur of Lumding Badarpur section. Immediately, after the damage was reported, railway arranged for mobilization of manpower, material and machinery at the site without losing any time. Top railway engineers and officers camped at the site and monitored the restoration work 24*7. Railways on total mobilised 4750 com volume of boulder along with 100 cum volume of unscreened shingle by means of a special train to fix the damaged spot
