Third encounter in 72 hours; Dacoit along with two Policemen admitted to SMCH

A number of armed bulgary has been executed in Cachar in recent times. Questions regarding  action taken by Police against the dacoits were posed in public forums. Cachar Police, under the leadership of SP Dr. Ramandeep Kaur initiated an intensive drive against the criminals involved in the racket of armed dacoity.

In an operation yesterday, Sonai Police Station nabbed 35-year-old Hussai Ahmed Laskar. Son of late Abdul Latif, Hussai a resident Dhonehari Part II, is a trained dacoit according to the records of Cachar Police.

Additional SP of Cachar informed that Hussai was involved in at least three dacoities in recent times and was apprehended yesterday. A 32 mm pistol was recovered from him.

“Leading to recovery, there was an attempt to escape wherein to prevent escape, controlled firing was attempted and he sustained serious injuries. He’s in SMCH along with two police personnel who also received injuries in the operation,” informed additional SP of Cachar in a media bulletin.

This is the third such identical situation in the last 72 hours when the Cachar Police had to open fire to prevent escape. First Taj Uddin then Hazi Nizam Uddin and now Hussai Ahmed Laskar incurred bullet injuries.
