Thousands Gather in Silchar to Cheer “Akou Ebar, Modi Sarkar” at Amit Shah’s Road Show

He came, he saw, he conquered!

Despite inclement weather, Silchar witnessed a massive turnout for the road show featuring India’s Home Minister, Amit Shah. The district BJP faced challenges due to incessant rainfall, yet their organizational prowess prevailed. The crowd swelled from hundreds to tens of thousands, lining the road from Devdoot to Bilpar before Shah’s arrival.

Shah, accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Silchar candidate Parimal Shuklabaidya, ignited the crowd with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki,” met with resounding “Jay” responses. Enthusiasm remained high as the convoy traversed DSA, Central Road, and Premtala, despite a downpour on Hospital Road.

Silchar’s concerns, including connectivity and the NRC, did not dampen the fervour for Shah, underscoring BJP’s widespread popularity. The road show concluded at Hospital Road, with Shah transitioning to his car amidst continued chants, marking the end of his visit ahead of the April 26 polls.

BJP’s Parimal Shuklabaidya faces competition from Congress’ Surya Kanta Sarkar and TMC’s Radheshyam Biswas. Despite Shuklabaidya’s incumbency and ministerial role, BJP’s show of strength underscores their dominance in Silchar.

With an estimated 30,000 participants, predominantly women, this rally is set to solidify BJP’s support base. The opposition’s response to this display of strength remains to be seen.
