Tragic Accident near Digorkhal Toll-Gate: Khalasi Falls off Truck to Death

A horrific road accident occurred at Digorkhal in Cachar, claiming the life of a khalasi (helper in trucks) named Jashim Uddin. The incident happened before the under-construction toll gate in the Digorkhal area in Kalain’s Gumrah.

The truck bearing registration number NL-01AH-1159, was reportedly transporting goods from Meghalaya to the Barak Valley. As the vehicle approached the toll gate at high speed, Jashim Uddin fell from the moving truck and died on the spot on Saturday morning, December 7.

Jashim, a resident of Rangpur in Katigorah’s Jalalpur, tragically lost his life in the accident. Following the incident, the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. The toll gate, the spot of the accident lies on National Highway 6.

The police have recovered the body and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for postmortem examination. The incident has sparked a sense of mystery, with further investigations underway.
