Two Nigerian and a Ivory Coast citizen arrested from Silchar – Guwahati bus
Meghalaya’s Khleriate police on Friday arrested three foreign nationals who illegally entered India from Bangladesh side and were trying to move to Guwahati. Out of the three arrested, one of them is Ivory Coast citizen whereas other two are Nigerian citizens. They were arrested from Khleriate while they were traveling in a bus from Silchar to Guwahati.
According to the information released by the Meghalaya Police, name of the trio are-
1.Nnyinide Jamina Okenchukwu S/o (L) Michael Nnyigide, R/o Akuchukwu, Ojo, Lagos.
2.Okeke Ifechukwu John S/o John Okeke, R/o Azia, Ihiala, Anambra.
3.Koman Daniel S/o (L) Nobert Koman, R/o Amorka, Anambra. (Holds Ivory Coast Passport)
Police sources said, they have admitted that they travelled from Africa to Bangladesh on the strength of visa duly granted to them by the competent authorities but illegally entered India from Agartala on the morning of September 12. They were assisted in this regard by some locals both on Bangladesh side as well as Indian side.
Khelriate police has registered a case and is investigating further.
