Udharbond Kachakanti Vidya Mandir teachers protest against alleged harrassment by a student’s guardian

The teachers of Udharbond Kachakanti Vidya Mandir on Friday staged a demonstration outside their school premises over alleged harassment of a teacher by a student’s guardian, two days earlier.

The teachers of the school, yesterday gathered in front of the school gate around 8:30 am and sat in protest. They chanted slogans demanding stern action against the wrong doer.

It was learnt that, on Wednesday, a teacher Gulak Goala, who had rebuked a student by pulling his ear, was allegedly harassed and abused by the student’s parent Chandan Roy along with few other people.

Speaking to the media, the school’s director Harihar Chakrabarty said that he and his teachers are doing a hard work to shape their student’s future, but in return such act from parents demotivates them. “Since morning to afternoon 2:30, we dedicate our every second for the students and their all-round development but it hurts when we see such act from some guardians” director Harihar Chakrabarty said to the media persons.

Receiving the news of the demonstration, the school management Committee’s general secretary Angshuman Dutta along with Cachar BJP vice president Jagannath Roy rushed to the spot and requested the teachers to call off their movement. Though the teachers initially refused to call off, but later after getting strong assurance from the School management, the protest was called off.
