Ukrainians arrested in Badarpur entered India illegally after serving a term in Bangladesh jail

Railway Police Force deployed at Badarpur Railway station saw two foreigners suspiciously moving around. Both of them were detained and asked for their travel documents. They could not furnish any and so, they were arrested. They have been identified as Trischanisk Vladimir (39) and Najari Bhojniuk (21), both citizens of Ukraine.

Initially, they didn’t reveal anything apart from the fact that they are Ukrainians and are travelling from Agartala by train.

However, the Badarpur police source informed that both of them have been involved in scamming people for a very long time. According to sources, six Ukrainian citizens were arrested by Bangladesh Police in connection with an international ATM scam. after serving a term of more than two years, both of them were released recently.

Police sources added that both of them got into an agreement with a “dalal” who helped them enter India through the Tripura border. They managed to cross the borders without any documents. After Police presented all the findings before the judge, both of them have been sent on Police remand for seven days.

Badarpur Police refused to share details of the interrogation as they believe that can jeopardise the investigation. However, sources confirmed that the Police are trying to trace their links in Barak Valley to unearth the actual reason for their travel.
