Video of a boy kicking differently-abled resident in Silchar goes viral

The video that has gone viral on social media features a man who has lost his mental balance walking like a nomad on the footpath adjacent to the main road.

According to the locals, the man belongs to a family in the neighbourhood. They said, it is only recently he started suffering from Mental Health related issues. Locals also said that he is often teased on the road.

The alarming signs in the video is a man is seen running towards him and then kicking him on his back. The inhumane torture to a patient of mental health has irked netizens and they have started demanding for the arrest of the assailant. If local sources are to be believed then the man has been identified and the family members of the victim have lodged an FIR.

While legal proceedings will take its due course, the inhumane act exposes the lack of awareness among people when it come to dealing with people suffering from Mental Health Issues.
