Violent Attack in Ramnagar Tarapur: Victims Demand Justice
On Wednesday violent attack in Ramnagar Tarapur has left several people injured, prompting heavy security deployment in the area. The victims, including Kutub Uddin Barbhuiya and his brother Karim Uddin Laskar, were allegedly attacked by a group of locals. While Karim Uddin remains in critical condition at Silchar Medical College and Hospital, the attackers are reportedly still roaming freely, armed, and threatening the victims.
According to reports, the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon when Kutub Uddin Barbhuiya and his family were on their way to the hospital. Suddenly, they were ambushed by Shah Rukh Ahmed Barbhuiya, his father Sahab Uddin Barbhuiya, Bapan Uddin Laskar, Kamal Uddin Laskar, and other alleged assailants. The attack left Kutub Uddin and his brother severely injured.
Kutub Uddin later revealed that they were suddenly attacked by them with machetes and even threw bricks at him, causing a head injury. He also stated that their house was vandalised and that his family continues to receive threats.
Addressing media he stated “Even now, they are on the streets with weapons, despite the presence of authorities. Our children cannot step outside. I urge the authorities to ensure justice and take legal action against them.”
Following the incident, the victims filed a complaint at the Tarapur Police Outpost, seeking strict action against the accused. In response, security forces, including paramilitary personnel, have been deployed to control the tense situation in Ramnagar. The district administration is yet to issue a statement on further legal actions.
As of now, the motive behind the attack remains unclear. No official statement has been given regarding the reasons behind the violence, and further investigation is required to determine what led to the incident.
