In view of arrival of VVIPs Silchar including CM Sarbananda Sonowal, union minister Nitin Gadkari in Barak Valley from December 22 to 25, the Cachar district administration has urged passengers flying from Silchar to report at the Kumbhirgram Airport much ahead of  scheduled departure.

In a directive issued on Monday, Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli urged citizens to plan their trips in advance, keeping probable traffic hubs and to co-operate accordingly to ensure hassle-free travel for everyone.

On December 22, the CM and other officials will be at Janta Bhawan and by evening will proceed to Karimganj.

At 10:30 am on December 24, the party meeting will be held at DSA grounds. After laying down the foundation stone at the Red Cross in Karimganj they will travel to Hailakandi. Later in the evening, the members will attend the state executive meeting and head back to Dibrugarh at around 7 pm.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will unveil Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s statue at Mahasadak’s Zero Point. He will also attend the 18th Convocation of Assam University Silchar on December 25.
