10 returning from Chhath Puja die on spot after Truck runs over auto in Patherkandi

At Boithakhal area in Patherkandi, 10 individuals have lost their lives. In what turns out to be a disastrous accident, a loaded truck ran over a Vikram Auto.

According to available information, ten individuals on their way back from Chhath Puja boarded the Diesel Auto. While they were seated in the auto, a 12-wheel loaded truck ran over the auto leaving ten dead. The incident took place at around 7:00 am today.

The truck driver managed to run away from the spot. “We have recovered the truck and the auto and Police is investigating the matter to nab the absconding driver. We are in a position to confirm that ten individuals have died so far,” said second OC of Patherkandi Police station, Bulbul Saikia.

According to available information, Duja Bai Panika, Salu Bai Panika, Gaurav Das Panika, Shambhu Das Panika, Lalon Goswami, Puja Gorh, Deb Gorh, Sanu Ree, Manglae Karmakar and Tupu Karmakar have lost their lives.
