18-month-old Rohan Paul is suffering from cancer, help the kid by donating a little

Help is available! Time and again, in the moment of pain and discomfort, we see people coming to aid others. Life is uncertain, anything can happen to anybody at any time. 18-month-old Rohan Paul is going through such pain that no one deserves to at his age, or at any age.

When he was five months, Rohan fell down from his bed and hurt his nose. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, for better treatment, his family members took him to NEIGRHMS Shillong and other hospitals in Guwahati. After that, the family returned to Silchar and started homeopathic treatment which cured the child to some extent. But it was only for a brief period. “We gave him drops and medicines but after a few days, the swelling returned. And this time, it was in a very bad shape. Due to which we went to Silchar Medical College and after various tests, we got to know he is suffering from Neuroblastoma- a rare type of cancer,” said Ratikanta Paul, father of Rohan.

He informed us that the disease can be treated in AIIMS, New Delhi. “We need a lot of money for that and we are grateful to all who came out in our support,” added Paul.

Since the last couple of days, people of Silchar have started posting about the child on social media platforms urging others to donate. The crowdfunding drive has worked in favour of the child. One such volunteer Rajarshee Bhattacharjee received a sum total of Rs 20,000 from people, “I was told about the kid by a friend of mine and then I went to meet them in their house. I saw all the medical records and after that, I posted on Facebook. It is a lengthy procedure and the family will need a lot of financial support. We will try our best to help them,” says Bhattacharjee.

The government has also taken note of the scenario. There are reports about Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal donating Rs 25,000 and also asking his office to write to AIIMS. Himanta Biswa Sarma, a cabinet minister in Sarbananda’s government too paid his attention to the kid. The family is now planning to travel to AIIMS. They will also be eligible for government help through Atal Amrit Jojona.

A little donation can do a big favour, in fact, can save someone’s life. To donate for Rohan Paul, please transfer whatever amount you can.
