24-year-old driver breathed his last while driving lorry in Katigorah area of National Highway 6
A 24-year-old driver named Binoy Rabha passed away while driving a lorry in Katigorah area of National Highway No. 6.
Binoy Rabha was a resident of the Kharsangsi area in Dudhnoi, Goalpara district.
According to his co-driver Piu Rabha, Binoy Rabha’s health deteriorated in the morning while driving towards Silchar from Guwahati. He was searching for a pharmacy to buy medicine but couldn’t find any. At around 7 in the morning he halted the lorry for rest. He resumed driving after feeling better, but unfortunately, he later died while driving. The co-driver also reported that the lorry collided with a parked vehicle while the driver was driving in an almost-dead state. The lorry’s registration number is AS 01 PC 6892.
After being informed of the incident, OC of Katigorah Police Nab Kumar Saikia sent the driver to Kalain Hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctor on duty. The body was then sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. The police is currently investigating the incident.
