3 ATM fraudsters nabbed; Rs 99,000, 1 pistol, 5 ATM cards recovered

A group of 3 criminals were arrested by Cachar Police late this Friday night from Loknathpur on charges of carrying out ATM frauds.

The group of three criminals are said to have cheated numerous people by exchanging original ATM cards with duplicate ATM cards and stole money from various places in Cachar and Hailakandi district. Acting as per a tipoff, Cachar Police conducted an operation and nabbed the criminals from Loknathpur under Dholai Police Station.

The three criminals have been identified as Aftar Hussian Laskar (alias Latai), s/o Manik Uddin Laskar of Bhagha Bazar, Loknathpur, Rabul Hussian Laskar, s/o Late Abdul Aziz Laskar of Rajghat Part-1 and Alta Hussian Laskar, s/o Late Pasan Ali Laskar of Loknathpur.

Police recovered a total of 5 ATM cards registered under various names along with cash ₹ 99,000/- and one air gun pistol from their procession.

A case has been registered in this regard and an investigation has also been initiated.
