3 Bighas land Handed Over for New Fire & Emergency Service Station in Udharbond
Udharbond’s long-pending demand for a dedicated fire service station took a major step forward on Tuesday (August 12) as the district administration formally handed over a 3 bigha plot of land at Estampur village for the construction of a new Fire & Emergency Service Station. The handover was done by Udharbond Circle Officer Rituraj Bordoloi in the presence of senior officials from the Cachar Police, Fire & Emergency Service, and the district administration.
Cachar Senior Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta said, “It has been a longstanding demand for a fire services station in Udharbond. Today, the district administration has given us 3 bighas of land. The location is close to Udharbond and connected to a four-lane road being built as part of the national highway, which will ensure quick navigation in case of emergencies.”
Explaining the need for the new facility, Circle Officer Bordoloi added, “The current fire service station is attached to the Udharbond Police Station and the space there is limited. For better service to the people of Udharbond, we have allocated 3 bighas in Estampur Grant, and construction will start soon.”
Additional SP Subrata Sen, along with officials from the Udharbond Circle Office and Fire & Emergency Service, attended the event.
