The ruckus in quarantine centres and COVID block continues. Three plumbers working at Silchar Medical College and Hospital have come in contact with COVID positive patients raising new concerns for the district administration.

Residents of the Uttar Krishnapur area all three plumbers were deployed by a contractor to do some renovation work at the hospital premises. “Somehow they managed to establish contact with the COVID positive patients,” informed Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert, NHM.

The COVID positive patients, as per the officials in the medical college, have lured the plumbers to go out and get them some stuff, “Just for a slight extra income, the plumbers went out and bought some stuff from the store and then delivered them to the COVID positive patients in the COVID block itself. The plumbers have also given their mobile phones to the patients to make calls to their respective family,” added Choudhury.

The authority in Silchar Medical College and Hospital informed about the breach to the Cachar District Administration following which the officials decided to place all threae of them under quarantine.
