30 people including two children complete institutionally quarantine at NATRIP, leave for home
On Thursday, 30 people including two children, who were institutionally quarantined at NATRIP, were officially released.
In the presence of MLA Udharbond Mihir Kanti Shome, the individuals were released at a ceremonial function held at NATRIP, Udharbondh. They were on a institutional quarantine at NATRIP, Jhapirbandh under Udharbondh constituency for a period of 14 days, a press statement from Cachar Administration said.
Joint Director of Health, Dr Sudip Jyoti Das, District Surveillance Officer, Dr Ajit Kumar Bhattacharjee, Circle officer Udharbondh, Jayanta Chakraborty were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA, Mihirkanti Shome said that the people released from their 14days long quarantined period should not consider themselves as patients under any circumstances. He asked them to go to their respective homes and stay for another 14 more days separately. He also requested them to maintain social distancing of one metre and maintain cleanliness at their home, as it is pertinent to mention here that according to the new guidelines of Indian Medical Association, the quarantine period has been extended by the government for a total of 28 days. MLA Shome wished all of them good health and a better disease-free life.
Dr. Ajit Kumar, District Surveillance Officer, wished the good health and well-being during the current month of Ramadan so that they can stay in their homes separately for 14 more days and maintain cleanliness. Dr Bhattacharya said that people should use hand sanitizers at their home but they should keep this out of reach of the children and as it is inflammable by nature so if it is exposed to fire, accidents can happen. So utmost care should be taken while using hand sanitizer at home. He wished all the people belonging to the Muslim community a happy Ramadan.
Circle Officer Jayant Chakraborty, Acting Medical Officer Dr. Arup Kumar Patwa also spoke on the occasion.
At the beginning, the purpose was explained by the Joint Director of Health, Dr Sudip Jyoti Das, to bid farewell to all those released on the occasion. Later on as a token of appreciation, gifts were given to all the 30 people including the two children released from their quarantine.
