32 positive in Cachar; One dead with COVID in Silchar, 100 active cases in Karimganj
Till 8:00 pm, 32 individuals in the Cachar district have tested positive for the virus. Yesterday, the number rose to 30. In Assam, for the first time in 2021, the number of cases on Monday stood at 1367, up from 639 of yesterday. It is worth mentioning here that the number of tests conducted on Monday was 65,410 against 23,300 of yesterday.
In Karimganj district, on April 19, 1024 samples were tested and 15 found carrying the infection. Total active cases stand at 100 as four got discharged from the hospital.
Silchar Medical College and Hospital authority informed that Bina Rani Paul, a 94-year-old female resident of the Ambicapatty area has breathed her last at the COVID-ICU.
According to the medical records, she was admitted to the COVID ICU after she tested positive for COVID19. At the time of admission, she was suffering from fever, cough, shortness of breath and was admitted on April 17, 2021. She had a positive RT-PCR on April 16.
“The patient was found to be having Dyselectrolytemia (is an imbalance in the required amount of electrolytes which are calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium in the blood) too. The patient was diagnosed to be suffering from respiratory failure and was put on NIV. The patient expired today at 4.45 pm.”
