55-year-old man found hanging in Salganga

55-year-old Anupam Bhattacharjee was found hanging by his ceiling fan in the wee hours of Saturday here at Salganga in Cachar district.

Anupam , who is a local businessman, came home after an usual day at work late this Friday night. Just like any other day, he went to sleep after having his dinner.

At around 4:20 am, his family members found him hanging from the ceiling fan of his room. Hearing loud screams, local people rushed to the scene.

Soon after, Udharbond Police officials too came to the spot after which the body was brought to the police station.

Later, the dead body was sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for post mortem and then handed over to the deceased’s family members.

His family said that he had been dealing with depression due to financial reasons since the past several months which might have been the reason behind his actions.

His last rites were performed later this evening here in Udharbond.
