6 officials from Silchar Fire Station in Tarapur tested positive for COVID19

After police officials, now the coronavirus infection has spread among the firemen in Silchar. A senior official in Silchar Fire Station, Tarapur informed that a total of six officials have tested positive so far and they are waiting for the remaining results.

“They were tested using the Rapid Antigen Test Kit and the rest of us have also given our swab samples. We are waiting for the results,” said the officer at Silchar Fire Station.

He informed that among the six officials there were four constables, one Havildar and one driver. “All of them are now in the custody of District Health Department and we will follow the standard operating procedure,” said the officer.

It is worth mentioning here that the firemen are COVID warriors and throughout the lockdown, they have remained in action. Whenever someone tested positive for COVID19 in Silchar, the firemen rushed to the spot and sanitised the locality.

“Our team got reduced by six today. We have enough resources for now and this won’t impact our day to day activities, however, if this number grows, then there could be a crisis,” added the officer who wished to remain anonymous.

The district health department has confirmed that six individuals have tested positive for the virus.
