8-year-old boy stabbed to death in Silchar over land dispute; CCTV captures murder in broad daylight

An 8-year-old boy was stabbed with a knife by a miscreant, allegedly over a land dispute in Silchar. The boy identified as Ayan Manjur Barbhuiya was later admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) with serious injuries.

Official sources at the SMCH confirmed that the patient was first reported to the Casualty Department and from there, he was shifted to the Pediatric ICU. He was kept in ventilation for a while and at 2:50 pm, the young boy was declared dead.

The incident took place at Madhurbond Water Works Road. The locals alleged that a land dispute was going on between Manjurul and Alauddin for many days and today the dispute took a terrible turn. As per the allegation, the son of Alauddin stabbed Manjurul’s 8-year-old son with a dao in the morning. The attacker fled the spot after stabbing the boy.

Speaking to reporters the grandmother of Ayan said, “He was playing and going from one room to another in the house. That is when Alauddin’s son stabbed him with a knife. My son screamed after seeing blood and apprised me of the incident. Ayan was taken to Medical College after the incident.”

The Police are currently investigating the incident and have detained the main accused named Apu Majumdar. The investigation is still going on to nab the other culprits. Meanwhile, Barak Bulletin accessed the CCTV Footage which clearly shows how the young boy was abducted in the middle of the road and then stabbed with a dao in the broad daylight.
