1 dead, two injured due to electrocution while trying to hang a Narendra Modi banner
In a tragic incident today, at around 11:30 AM, one died and two others got critically injured. At the National Highway Road Silchar, three young males were trying to hang a Narendra Modi poster and while doing so, accidentally touched the overhead electric wire.
An eyewitness informs that locals noticed unrest and ran close to three of them to find one being dead while two others battling for life. A vendor identified as Sanju Das used his presence of mind and started pumping one (identified as Bulan Shah) of the injured’s chest, who was lying unconscious. Soon after that, he started reacting again and was rushed to Valley Hospital.
As per information, the deceased Mantosh Das is a resident of Pakua, Karimganj area. Aged 25, he was a vegetable vendor, who would travel every day to National Highway market for work.
“One is being treated in Valley Hospital, while the other is admitted in Silchar Medical College and Hospital in critical condition. The dead body is also kept in SMCH,” informs a local, aware of the developments.
