Paper Mill employees protesting in front of railway station are arrested; being taken to unknown location
While the whole Barak Valley is going to get ‘MODIfied’ today following the PM’s Silchar visit with people coming in from different parts of the region, leaders and demonstrators of the HPC Paper Mills Revival Action Committee are going through a tough time.
The protesters demonstrating in front of Silchar Railway Station in Tarapur have been arrested by the administration and are now being shifted to an unknown location.
The HPC Paper Mills Revival Action Committee as per their announcement, organised a ‘protest rally’ in Silchar, in their announcement they mentioned, “NON-REVIVAL OF CACHAR AND NAGAON PAPER MILLS & DEATH OF 49 WORKERS DUE TO INHUMAN TORTURE BY THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE COMMENCED FROM TARAPUR RAILWAY STATION, SILCHAR @11-30 AM SHARP TODAY. YOUR PRESENCE IN THE RALLY WILL MAKE THE STRUGGLE A HISTORICAL ONE WITH GRAND SUCCESS.”
As per latest information, at around 1:15 PM the administration forced the leaders in the rally in two big buses which drove off towards Lakhipur road. “We, most of the leaders have been arrested and are now being taken to an unknown destination towards Lakhipur Road. No answer from administration where they are going to…” informs a leader in the bus.
