Durba Paul case takes new turn; “SP takes bribe” alleges Congress MLA in protest rally
After Sichar MLA Dilip Paul, now the Congress’ Rajdeep Goala takes a jibe at superintendent of police Rakesh Roushan. Lakhipur MLA Goala cited examples of rise in crime and accused the SP of corruption.
In a protest rally demanding prompt action against Durba Paul and her aides who assaulted woman vendors in Silchar, Goala and other senior members of Indian National Congress expressed their concern at the current law and order situation in Cachar.
Not only Durba Paul and the woman vendors assault case, Goala also mentioned about the rising cases of drug abuse, “One after another dead body is recovered from several parts of Cachar because of drug overdose,” said he.
Adding that, in his constituency itself, he has observed that drugs are easily smuggled from Manipur, “These toxic substances then reach the mass intoxicating the entire atmosphere. All of this happens right under the nose of SP and he sits quietly,” Goala alleged.
The Lakhipur MLA went on to say that the “SP takes bribe” from syndicates, “He stays quite intentionally as he rakes in significant financial benefits from the rackets operating freely on the ground,” Goala added.
BJP was also attacked by Congress MLA, “They claim to be honest and often teach moral lessons, the reality got revealed when ruling MLA Dilip Paul accused his government machinery of corruption,” said he, reminding about Dilip Paul’s allegation against the same SP.
Last time when the SP was attacked by Paul, senior BJP leaders slammed him for questioning a man in uniform. After this round two of verbal attack, it remains to be seen how the SP responds.
