Kidnapped trader rescued from Vairengte

In a major incident, Cachar Police recovered a local trader who was kidnapped from his shop on Monday afternoon.

According to senior police officials here, Puranjit Dutta, owner of Anika Showroom at Rangirkhari was forceively dragged out of his room at Aulia Bazar area by three unnamed persons and taken onwards Mizoram.

Later, on investigation, the trader was found abandoned by the kidnappers at a place in Vairengte in Mizoram and he was rescued.

Police is suspecting this to be an incident resulting from business rivalry.
