Barak Bulletin to celebrate anniversary with 'Aspiring Barak' presented by Jookto

On February 3, 2019, Barakbulletin.com completes a year. To mark the occasion the hyper local website has organised a one-day convention “Aspiring Barak” to be held at Rajiv Bhawan in Silchar. Independent adviser, 
consultant on cyber security, defense and high-end technology policy issues and former country head of General Dynamics, Subimal Bhattacharjee’s organisation Jookto has associated with the event as the title sponsor. 
The event will kick start with an inter-school quiz competition where several schools from Barak Valley will tussle it out among themselves. Throughout the day-long convention, dignitaries from various spheres will deliver keynote on issues related to Barak Valley and its welfare. 
The newly appointed deputy commissioner of Cachar, IAS Laya Madduri will deliver a keynote on how the administration and the residents can work together to grow and develop the district. Her keynote will be followed by one-on-one interaction with Joydeep Biswas, HOD Department of Statistics & Associate Professor 
Department of Economics, Cachar College, Silchar.
Subimal Bhattacharjee will speak on the need of “Out Of The Box” ideas to shape and develop Barak Valley as a productive region. Dr. Himabrata Das, Registrar, Department of Psychiatry, Silchar Medical College & 
Hospital will then have one-on-one interaction with Bhattacharjee.
Apart from keynotes, two very important panel discussions will help the valley start a dialogue towards a better tomorrow. The first of the two- “Can We Shape Champions In Barak Valley” is a session on the education 
system of the region. It is observed that a large number of students go out of the station to prepare for competitive examinations. In this session, the panelists will decode the education system and shed light on the areas of improvement. The session will be moderated by Joydeep Biswas, HOD Department of Statistics & Associate 
Professor Department of Economics, Cachar College, Silchar. The panelists include – Dr. Babul Bezbaruah, Principal cum Chief Superintendent, Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Professor Sivaji Bandyopadhyay, 
Director, National Institute of Technology, Silchar, Professor Dilip Chandra Nath, Vice-chancellor, Assam University Silchar, Dr. Himabrata Das, Registrar, Department of Psychiatry, Silchar Medical College & Hospital, Mrs. Mandira Dasgupta, Headmistress, Silchar Collegiate School, Mr. Hilal Uddin Laskar, Associate Professor, 
Department of Philosophy, SS College Hailakandi.
In the second panel discussion- “The Importance of Regional Media In Digital Age” the who’s who of media fraternity will discuss various issues that the local media houses are facing at this stage. Bhopal Gas Tragedy, 
Gujarat Riots or Kavery River Water Dispute the regional publications publishing from its respective regions provided the most detailed reports. How has the emergence of digital media changed the dynamics of regional 
print publications? Is the importance reducing with time? How important is the platform for advertisers, who are willing to spend money in order to reach out to their target audience? Do they see a good return on investment? 
The moderator will try to find answers to all these questions from panelists Arijit Aditya, Editor, Dainik Jugashanka, Taimur Raja Choudhury, Editor, Dainik Samayik Prasanga, Mukesh Agarwal, Group Vice President, 
Barak Valley Cements, Paresh Dutta, Editor, Dainik Prantojyoti, Vivek Podder, Director, Podder Toyota.
In the event, three individuals will also be recognised for their contribution towards the betterment of the society and duly felicitated. Apart from that, talents from Barak Valley will exhibit a slew of cultural events.

Registrar, Department of Psychiatry, Silchar Mefical College & Hospital, Himabrata Das, also the quizmaster in Aspiring Barak’s interschool quiz competition shared, “This time we have added many new elements in the quiz competition. The idea is to give students a sense of various competitive examinations through the questions. There will be a preliminary round to start with and then we will have the final rounds with the ones who qualify.”
