'Navya' to have its industry in Silchar soon
A new industry of a boutique – “Navya, The New You” will start its journey in Silchar soon.
Piya Roy Barman, owner of the boutique, said at a news conference on Saturday that the venture, which was started a couple of years ago, features traditional and Indo-Western attire for both gents and ladies. The vision of starting the boutique was to provide quality and creative outfits to the people of Silchar.
“All the attires are designed by me. Special emphasis is given on texture, shades and other related aspects. It is also taken care of that the outfits are affordable to one and all,” she said.
Piya, who had studied at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kolkata, said she has been bringing her creations for the boutique from an industry in Kolkata for the past two years and now she has decided to start an industry in Silchar. Hopefully, it will be done within next six months, she said.
“The attires range from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 32,000 and it takes around 20 days for delivery (from the date of order),” she said. She shared that the boutique has received around 15,000 orders in the past two years.
She said the industry would bring jobs for skilled women of Silchar and Barak Valley, who can work and make their life better. “Many skilled women are there who want to work but are unable to do so because of lack of opportunities/ventures. Though the initiative, we also want to encourage these women and help them to do something on their own,” she said.
Tuhina Biswas, an advocate and one of the persons present, said the boutique has received a superb response in the past two years and lauded Piya Roy Barman for coming up with the venture to cater the needs and desires of the fashion-lovers in Silchar.
Karishma Nath (now Karishma Nath Thakur), second runner-up of Vivel Northeast Diva 2015, said Navya is something which can make beautify the overall outlook of people through their snazzy and elegant attire and make them feel really good. “Navya is all about making people feel good and confident about themselves,” she said. Among others, Swarnali Choudhury and Arundhati Gupta were present.
Navya is located at Nazirpatty in Silchar. It remains open from 11am to 9pm.
