SM Dev Civil Hospital wins Kayakalp Award
In a major development towards better health care, Satindra Mohan Dev Civil Hospital Silchar has won the prestigious Kaayakalp Award.
Silchar MLA Dilip Kumar Paul informed this on Saturday in a meeting at the conference hall of the hospital.
” We were ranked fourth in the list of hospitals across Assam in 2018. But due to the continuous efforts by the hospital doctors and support staff, we have been able to reach the number one spot among all the 17 hospitals with 87.3 percent. We have focused on the key areas as envisioned in the rules of the competition. This is a big moment for us and I thank the Government.”
The MLA informed that SM Dev Civil Hospital has secured 87.3 percent marks in the competition. The MLA thanked the efforts of former Deputy Commissioner Dr S Laxmanan for his concerns behind making the hospital number one in the state. Dr Ashutosh Barman, superintendent of the hospital narrated an account of the developments taking place in ths hospital.
District Media Expert Suman Choudhury informed that eight other health centres have also excelled across the district. As a result of the achivement the Civil Hospital will be getting a financial reward of Rs 50 lakh. Eight other health units including Community Health Centres and Block PHCs have earned monetary rewards from 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh respectively.
The website of the hospital www.civilhospitalsilchar.org was also officially launched and positive assurances of giving the hospital a major facelift was floated. Joint Director of the Hospital Dr SJ Das, Dr Ajit Bhattacharjee DPM Rahul Ghose attended the meeting.
Earlier, a minute’s silence was observed in the memory of the 45 CRPF troopers martyred in Pulwama and floral tributes were paid as well.
