Parimal Suklabaidya refused to accept our memorandum: Palonghat Congress minorities cell

A meeting of the Palonghat block Congress minority cell was held at Rukni (Part-II) in Palonghat tehsil under Sonai constituency in Cachar district on Thursday.

The meeting, organised in connection with the upcoming Lok Sabha election, was attended by members of different mandal committees. Saleh Ahmed Choudhury, chairman of the minority cell, Palonghat block Congress, said a team of the Congress had gone to meet excise and fisheries minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Tuesday to submit a memorandum to him and seek help regarding the repair work of a road at Boraitoli (Dutta Para).

However, Suklabaidya did not accept the memorandum and told them that they had voted for the Congress and refused to accept their memorandum, Choudhury alleged.

Palonghat mandal Congress president Bablu Das expressed his fury over Suklabaidya and said the common people along with workers of all political parties will be benefited if the road is repaired. Such a remark by an elected representative is unfortunate, he said.

The Palonghat mandal Congress minorities’ cell was formed after the meeting. Aayan Ali Laskar was chosen as the president and Noor Alam as the secretary. Congress workers Kutub Uddin Laskar, Noor Uddin Laskar and Kalamani Barbhuiya were also present.

Suklabaidya was not available for a reaction over the matter.
