Mysterious death of renowned elocutionist Mihiresh Das; found burnt in his bedroom 

A tragic end of a creative journey. Renowned elocutionist and a very active hand when it comes to cultural activities Mihiresh Das found dead in his own bedroom at his residence in Malugram, Silchar. His body was burnt and deformed.

It is assumed that the incident took place before dawn today. Police reached the spot early morning and sent the body for postmortem to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Police sources informed us that they are investigating the matter and it is too early to draw a conclusion. “It could be a suicide, it could be a murder or it could be an accident. We would not like to speculate at this stage,” said an officer involved in the investigation.

Mihiresh Das on March 24, 2019, uploaded a status on Facebook stating he his suffering from pox. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
